I NEED TO GET SOME SLEEP!?

Postby gustav34 » Sat Jul 24, 2010 2:53 am

I need to get atleast 7 -8 hours of sleep in a day for my brain to work at maximum capacity while I'm in college. THe past 2 days I ****** up and stayed up way too late playing video games. Im 4 hours behind in sleep! I need to get some sleep in but classes and homework dont give me enough time to nap. Is there liek a meditation technique or something to supplement for sleep. Or is there a way to sleep effectively in a short nap so that my brain functions at its maximum.

I NEED TO GET SOME SLEEP!?

I had the same problem for weeks, I just started uni. I had to..

get a fiction book from the library - helps get my mind off everything and makes me go to sleep
play less video games - i hated it so bad but i gave away mw2.. the game is so damn addictive
set times to be in your bed and be asleep - get some routine, if you have a good sleep routine you'll find you don't need as much

if i wanted a short nap, normally on the train, id put a loud alarm on my phone so id wake up but, it really is best to get your sleep all at once, short naps seem to make me more tired.

good luck with you studies dude

get some sleep

No there is nothing that can truly replace a good night's sleep

I suggest you drink an energy drink or coffee to make it through the day

I hate to say it, but you might need to hide the game system for a while so that you can catch up with your school work. That is, if you need sleep so badly. I know there are sleeping pills out there.

Avoid caffeine and red bulls etc. Sleep...If you cant sleep...Try to study. Have you fave music playing at a low volume to make it soothing and read...You would get so sleepy and relaxed. If not try to take a warm shower and go straight to bed. Its all about relaxation... Another method is work in a nap after your last class even if its 30 minutes....Naps do add up over time so if you decide to stay up late you wont lack too much rest
