You might want to look up ADHD on sites such as WebMD, Yahoo Health and the American Psychological Association, which gives comprehensive information about symptoms and treatment.
Several medications have been found to be effective, such as Ritalin, Adderall and Strattera, as well as Bupropion (Wellbutrin), which is an anti-depressant.
While I disagree with the above poster who implies that ADHD is "not real," it is true that lifestyle changes such as proper sleep, exercise, and nutrition can make a big difference - especially exercise. In addition, you might want to try counseling in the form of a personal (or executive) coach to assist you with goals.
Finally, check out books for adults with ADHD like "Driven to Distraction" and groups/websites such as CHADD for support and suggestions.
Good luck.
