what about personality disorders like borderline?

is it ungodly expensive and are the effects lasting?

please, ANY experiences or thoughts would be immensely helpful right now. i think i'd opt for a lobotomy at this point. :(

Do you mean bio feed back? Anyway, for many things EFT works wonders quickly, and there is a free version at emofree dot com , click on 'learn eft'. and download the manual before he retires.
For bi polar, that is another story........you can eft everything bothering you , but you need to have meds and hormone balancing.......along with it all.........you have to get really healthy, test for food and other allergies, etc.

Hey there.. I have a session for neurofeedback therapy in a few day for depression that i have developed over the last 6 months due to some bad things happening.

From the research I have done, and with the specialists i have spoken to, neurofeedback works best for Bipolar disorder (out of all the different types of depression), as well as a number of other psychological problems.

Here is another example of someone overcoming bipolar dirsorder with neurofeedback therapy - http://www.healthboards.com/boards/showthread.php?t=690804

Neurofeedback conditions your brain into the correct and healthy brain waves, and the neurotransmitters naturally follow suit. I do not think it is effective for those disorders which are of a physical nature, but rather a psychological nature (which i believe 90% of mental problems are).

I spoke to someone who has used neurofeedback therapy, that went from cutting themselves, severely depressed to stable and in total control of their depression. Here are his exact words -

"For me it helped quite immensely. The medications and therapy weren't working well enough and I kept finding it easier to go down. After 1 of these sessions I felt a little different (no way saying better but just a little different). After about 4-5 sessions I started noticing (coupled with the therapy and a lower dose of the meds) I wasn't going down as much and it took a lot more for me to get down to that level and a lot of energy and enthusiasm started to creep back into my system. After about 6-7 sessions I was in pretty good control of my depression. I didn't need the sessions anymore, didn't need the therapy. Kept on the small dose of the medication to be safe and yeah, that was that for me.

They're not intense sessions though and you really wouldn't pick it to work on face value alone but it does help. Apparently they've adapted the same technique for Olympic shooters or something that allows them to block out any unnecessary patterns and allows them to focus. That's what I was told by the doc who did me."

I plan on using neurofeedback therapy in conjunction with meditation, CBT and NLP to help overcome what i have and i definetely think you should give it a try, especially if you have bipolar disorder!
